Jayson Brunsdon Spring/Summer 2011

An Australian Fashion Week veteran of 15 years Jayson Brunsdon sent another delightfully feminine collection down the runway. Playing with pastel and sorbet shades he delivered a plethora of easy to wear summer dresses, shorts and high waisted pants.
Brunsdon took inspiration for the collection from the "Australian beach girl" and breezy summer culture that Australia is so well known for. High waisted dresses cinched with thin pastel colored belts and long linen shorts conjured up images of summers and ice cream by the beach. Interspersed in the collection were high waisted cream pants, maxi skirts and long sequined dresses, showing off Brunsdons talent for tailoring and fit. His love of a neutral palette was clear with pops of watermelon pink, turquoise, lemon yellow and baby blue appearing alongside creams and off-whites. The theme throughout the show was reminiscent of a bygone era: the 1960's; girls with coiffed hair and pastel coloured cars; bright blue summer days and icecreams on the boardwalk.
