Dion Lee Spring/Summer 2011

Touted as THE Australian fashion designer to watch Dion Lee did not disappoint with his Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Opening the day in a room bathed with light at the Opera House, Lee let forth a multitude of ink blot inspired prints, bright colours and intricately knotted, pleated and paneled dresses, skirts and blazers. The collection showed off many of Lee's talents, most noticeably his ability to construct a beautifully fitted dress and blazer. Slashed armholes, mesh cutouts and body con style dresses were presented in prints of bright duck egg blue, lilac, taupe, cream and black. Psychiatrist style prints of black ink blots and mixed colours were showcased to perfection with Lee's hand-made crystal shoes and sharp silhouettes. Blazers, crisp white shirts and short fitted dresses and skirts were the main focus of the collection with intricate pleating, knotting and exceptional fit the points of difference. A contender with some of the biggest names in the Australian fashion industry Lee is a rising star who proved himself worthy yet again.
