Bottega Veneta Cruise 2011

Cruise collections are often a neglected event on the fashion calendar, yet with consumer growth and the global demand for ‘more more more’ it is a surprise that they are often the collections that go unnoticed. Bottega Veneta’s 2011 Cruise collection (also named Resort) was more a follow up of the Fall 2010 show that was shown earlier this year rather than a separate range that one can embrace in the warmer months.
Sticking to a darker colour palette with splashes of white and brighter primary colours the collection featured draped looser style pants, skirts and shorts and the occasional bodysuit and cut out dress in leather or silk. Double breasted blazers, sleeveless fitted dresses and full leather skirts were classic Bottega, with some brighter red and green silk dresses making an appearance later on in the show. There wasn’t a heel in sight; with knee high suede slouchy boots and leather flip flops parading down the runway.
