Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2010 Couture
If couture embodies the essence of fashion, then Jean Paul Gaultier brought to life a fabulous fashion fantasy that instantly transported. There were splashes of daring prints, bundles of luxurious fur, extra-exaggerated shoulders and large bow style turban hats that adorned each models perfect head. Starting off with a batwing black trench and moving through waisted floor length dresses in sheer chiffons and clingy jersey skirts Gaultiers collection embraced a more feminine structure, including Dita Von Teese as a model.
He threw in leather, a pin striped pantsuit and journeyed back to his roots with a nude corset encased in black framing.
It was a collection to tantalise the senses and make you dream of an old Hollywood era. An era where floor length sequinned dresses were perfect for cocktail hour and cigarette holders were inspired by Holly Golightly.
