 Christian Dior Fall 2010 Couture

With the couture collections starting in Paris the reasons that we adore fashion come to light. Couture may be dying- as said by some critics- but what it symbolises is akin to the myriad of reasons that make us all fall in love with fashion. Haute Couture, or the Couture shows, that are always held in Paris symbolise and represent the creativity, ingenuity and craftsmanship of a designer or house. The collection is there to represent everything that the house embodies, with designers taking inspiration from past collections (in John Galliano's case Dior’s 1953 Spring collection) daily trends and anything that truly embodies an emotion, a moment in time or a nostalgic feeling.
Couture shows off the craftsmanship, inspiration and true genius of a designer, allowing everyone to fall in love with beautiful ball gowns, exquisite fabrics and the fairytale spectacle that is a couture show.
